Preserving America’s Educational Data
Your contribution today helps ensure America’s educational data legacy remains accessible to researchers, policymakers, and the public for generations to come.
Remarkable Progress in Just Two Months
Since April 2025, Agora has:
- Assembled a team of 20+ of the nation’s foremost education researchers and statisticians
- Secured nonprofit status
- Presented our capabilities at both AERA and NCME conferences to tremendous response
- Launched our infrastructure platform at edevaluator.org using personal funds

“Without an IES and the federal education statistical agency it houses, the studies and evidence-based findings produced by our members are gravely undermined. Our graduate students are stalled in their work and upended in their progress toward a degree. Practitioners and policymakers also suffer great harm as they are left to drive decisions without the benefit of empirical data and high-quality research.”
—Dr. Felice J. Levine, Executive Director of AERA
“You’re talking about millions of dollars worth of investment just vanishing…NCES existed for over 100 years before the Department of Education was ever founded because one of the legitimate purposes of the federal government in education is collecting data so that people can see how schools are doing. We need to make data-driven decisions.”
—Dr. James (Lynn) Woodworth, commissioner of NCES (2018–2021)

A Critical Moment for Educational Research
In March 2025, when the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) terminated nearly all NCES employees, decades of irreplaceable educational research faced an uncertain future. Agora Education Services emerged as a response – a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by former NCES staff and contractors determined to safeguard our nation’s educational knowledge base.
Projected Data Access Loss
In June of 2024, Google Analytics (GA3, or Universal Analytics) was migrated to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). During this time, data was not collected.
